Todd stood outside by the exit, a bouquet of flowers in hand. The rest of the dead poets and Mr. Keating nearby. Todd had watched his best friend Neil in the play, and he was amazing. Todd was rocking back and forth on his heels as he waited for Neil to be done backstage. Todd knew how much this moment meant to Neil, and more than anything, he wanted to tell him how proud he was. Todd just wanted to see him happy.

Soon enough Neil had appeared, wearing his normal clothes and the crown he wore on his head now in hand. He had the biggest smile on his face. He was immediately swarmed with attention from all his friends and other people congratulating and complimenting him. He deserved it, and he was buzzing with excitement and happiness.

Then, he spotted Todd standing aside. He abruptly left the conversation and pushed through the crowd. "Todd! You're here! I was good, I was really good!" Neil said, pulling Todd in for a hug. Todd shyly smiled, returning the hug.

"Neil, you were incredible. It's like the role of Puck was made for you." Todd said, holding out the bouquet of flowers. His cheeks a bit flushed, either from the cold winter weather or from being flustered. For once he didn't hesitate or stutter, his words confident and sincere.

The two boys stood close to each other, both of them smiling like idiots. Neil took the bouquet happily and sniffed them. For a moment neither of them said anything, just looking at each other as there was many people everywhere around them, mingling.

Finally, Neil spoke up once more. "We should celebrate...you know? Like me and you..?"
