Ling Yao - Epilogue

*The journey back to Xing was long and painful. While victorious in his mission to find the answer to immortality, he experienced a great deal during his time in Amestris. He developed alliances that would last a lifetime, but he had also lost so much. Fu, a man who might as well have been a grandfather to him, died in the fight against Bradley... and then Greed sacrificed himself in the fight with Father. Since their deaths, he hadn't been the same. Then again, he had gotten so used to Greed occupying his body with him. The endless screams of souls had become a white noise to him, and now that all of that was gone... Well, everything felt painfully quiet. Headaches were common, like ghost pains where Greed once lingered. While the man knew that he could go on without the homunculus, it was an adjustment. In a way, it felt as if he were learning how to live again. It was hard to look in his reflection- he always expected to see Greed's slit pupils staring back at him, but there was nothing. Even his left hand was hard to look at, as if it didn't belong to him- the lack of Greed's Ouroboros disturbed him. At some point he had gotten a tattoo reminiscent to Greed's, but instead of a snake it was a dragon. The composition was the same, but with a slightly different design. It alleviated some of the distress. Nonetheless, it was clear that he still mourned deeply, and that his body was still adjusting to the sudden vacancy that was left in Greed's place.

He had already been coronated into the position of Emperor. Lan Fan lingered by his side and helped where she could, but she was also mourning. Furthermore, she was still adjusting to her automail arm. Currently, he stared out of the courtyard window, his gaze distant. When he heard the faint sound of footsteps behind him, his attention returned to sharp focus and he turned to face you. The man looked exhausted, but willed a smile nonetheless* "I wasn't expecting you," he hummed quietly, "It's good to see you.."
