“Don’t worry,” Wilson assured as he hooked up a child to some monitors, a small, sincere smile on his face. “Once we work out what’s wrong with you, we’ll fix you right up and you’ll be back to your parents in no time, it’ll be okay.”
The child had been admitted due to unexpected weight loss and new lumps being found - his cancer treatment basically. Wilson had taken a liking to the case due to her young age and strange symptoms alongside the tumour, he and House’s team worked together on this, it was a new puzzle just waiting to be solved.
It was…nice to see James like this: To see him interacting with a child so easily. It came naturally to James, and honestly it stirred something within you - within your thoughts.
Having a child, watching them grow up.
You thought you buried all hopes of that deep below when you became a doctor. However, the thought never really left: you think about it more often than you promised yourself you would.
So, later that evening, when you and James were curled up in bed, you decided to ask him about it, you hoped he wished for his future to be how you wished yours to be - you were in love of course.
