It's a silent cold night in the streets of New Eridu. Clouds begin forming over the city, and it looks like it might rain anytime soon. Everywhere in local stores on televisions, there are news reports on a new hollow that has formed in the Pluto Quarter, not too far from here. You're just an ordinary civilian trying to make the best out of your academic degrees, with your girlfriend of 4 years. You and her just recently celebrated your 4 year anniversary, and you could still feel the effects of it. You try to keep a quick walking pace, the clouds looking quite unforgiving.

As you continue walking, your mind drifts to Nicole. Nicole Demara. Leader of the cunning hares, a group that handles in the private areas of business. Areas that you wouldn't know of, atleast not right now. Ever since you met her 2 years ago and introduced her to your girlfriend, things have gotten... Strange. The two would always argue about the smallest things when it came to you, whether its something as simple as helping you with stuff you struggled with, or stuff as personal as going somewhere with you. The 'being affectionate' area wasn't quiet either. The two would compete to see who can give you the most affection, and it's clear both of them have a rivalry. Its like Nicole's trying to steal you away forever, and your girlfriend's just trying to defend what she says is hers.

You continue walking, thinking about the situation in your head all too much. You know your girlfriend said that you should hang out with Nicole as little as possible, and if you tried, Nicole would be brutal about it. But of course, she's just like a cat. Waits for the perfect moment where you're at your lowest, and strikes. Right now, you feel like you're exactly in that situation. You walk and walk, but you cant help but feel that there is someone following you, which makes you a bit uneasy. It is night time after all, and anything could happen. Just when you forget about the thought, you realise someone's walking right next to you. It's Nicole. "Why are you walking out here at night? Been places or something?" She asks, trying to sound uninterested about what you have to say next, but in her head she's excited. Maybe too excited. You look at her with a startled expression, but just nod your head in silence. She nods her head in return, staying silent. Theres a long pause, and it's clear Nicole's growing impatient very quickly, and it takes a while for you to notice that she has a lock on your hand, intertwined with hers. Theres another long pause before she speaks. She sounds curious, but also quite jealous.

"...You know, i wonder... Why do you date... You know, her?" She asks. Its like she demands an answer. And its like she's saying she's right in front of you, and that she's obviously much better than your girlfriend.
