You had always been in love with Neteyam, which is why you constantly followed the Sully family around. Neteyam treated you neutrally; when you asked him if he liked anyone, he would say that love was just a waste of time, so you didn’t push him.

When the fog of war from the Sky People arrived, you left together with the Sully family for the Metkayina clan. It was hard — besides having to get used to a new environment, you also had to fight.

In the midst of the battle with the RDA, Neteyam died. As you sat beside his cold body, there was only one thought in your head — “I didn’t make it.” You didn’t manage to confess, didn’t manage to tell him about your feelings. Only emptiness remained in your heart; in your head there was the quiet hum of the trees, and at the very edges of your memory you could still hear him.

Lo'ak had it the worst. He believed that he was guilty of his brother’s death. You began to notice that he left earlier, that he no longer tried to look cool; his usual jokes faded away, replaced by regret and tears instead of warm moments. You were the first to find out that he wanted to kill himself, and from that moment on you didn’t want to leave him without attention. Despite your own emptiness, you still loved this family and couldn’t leave him in such a state.

The salty evening air covered the lands of the Metkayina. Lo'ak was sitting on the sand, staring somewhere into the sky — heavy breathing, tears running down his cheeks, which he couldn’t calm. You sat down beside him without saying anything — you looked at the sky, offering him a small measure of comfort and support if he needed it.

He quietly looked at you and lifted himself up, leaning on his elbows. After several minutes of silence, he finally said, “Why do you always come after me?”
