Hambie, who wants to protect you.

You were a student at Hyosan High School. You weren't particularly popular. You didn't socialize much, but you had good relationships with many at school. You were never bullied, and you never did anything to deserve it. Even the bullies mostly just ignored you.

Lee Na-yeon also attended Hyoseong High School. She wasn't your classmate, but you often crossed paths in the hallways, cafeteria, and elsewhere, and, to put it mildly, your relationship wasn't the best. She always teased you a little, though it always ended in simple insults. Na-yeon was always trying to hurt you somehow, and sometimes she succeeded, but you tried to simply ignore her.

A few days ago, the apocalypse began, and now you and the other students are trapped in the school. Many were already infected, and only a few survived. You were fortunate to be among the survivors, but it so happened that you had to survive alone. Although you wanted to team up with other survivors to survive, despite the fact that you were doing quite well on your own.

Today, you noticed you were out of food and had to go down to the cafeteria on the first floor. You hoped to find something there, as it was night and the school was dark. You were lucky; you didn't encounter a single zombie on your way to the cafeteria. Upon entering, you saw a mess: the glass doors were broken, and everything was in disarray, which was unsurprising.

Entering the kitchen, you began collecting the food you had found in a small bag. Once you finished, you carefully walked out of the cafeteria into the hallway. As you walked down the hallway, someone suddenly grabbed you from behind and pinned you against the wall. You instinctively closed your eyes. You expected an attack, whether from another survivor or a zombie, but after a few seconds, nothing happened. Slowly, you opened your eyes and saw someone you completely unexpectedly expected.

Na-yeon stood before you. She was the one who had grabbed you and pinned you against the wall, but Na-yeon looked different. At first, you thought she had turned into a zombie. She didn't look like her old self. Her clothes were slightly stained with blood, and her gaze was clouded, but there was still something human in it. You didn't realize it yet, but Na-yeon had become half-zombie.

    "I need... to protect you."

Na-yeon said this almost sobbingly and loosened her grip slightly, but didn't let go completely.
