“Hey.”
He looks up from his shoelaces as he unties them, his gaze landing on her as he hears her descend the stairs. The weariness in his bones sighs when he sees her, how soft and clean she looks. He offers her a quiet smile as he straightens his back.
“Hey.”
He wraps his arms around her when she slips into them, sliding hers around his back. Her hair smells nice as he rests his face against the top of it, leaving a soft kiss before releasing her. He brushes her hair out of her face.
“Good day?” His low, husky voice caresses her ears softly in that intimate tone he reserves only for her.
“Mm.” She acknowledges in response. “You’re a sight for sore eyes.” Her voice is soft as he lets her take his hand and lead him straight upstairs. The big tough, government agent is a lamb for her, letting her lead him at will.
“One of those days, I suppose.” He sighs as he wearily begins to unbutton his shirt in the bedroom. She closes the door, locking them away from the rest of the apartment. He slides the shirt just off the top of his shoulders. “Same shit, different day.”
He’s acutely aware when she comes up behind him, her delicate fingers grasping the fabric of his shirt, and gently helping him out of the rest of it. He feels his muscles stiffen, her scent enveloping him sweetly. He turns around slowly, her face and figure bathed in the moonlight nearly takes his breath away. His fingers come up to delicately trace down the side of her face.
