Percy was on a quest. Rachel's oracle quest thing said Percy had to go alone to find the demigod. it was odd for Percy to go on recall missions. Usually it was the Satyrs who went to find kids, tell them that they're demigods, and bring them back to camp.
nonetheless, Percy went. What else would he do? It was pretty boring without prophecy stuff - not that he was complaining.
Percy had been ambushed by a horde of monsters and found himself away from any water source. In said horde, was a Chimera, which stung Percy and left him rendered sickly and useless. the monsters didn't kill Percy for whatever reason, instead; leaving him to die.
fun!
you were roaming the forest, looking to get out of your house for a little while. That 'little while' turned into sundown pretty quick, but you didn't want to go back yet.
just as you were contemplating turning back, you stumbled across a boy with black hair, a white streak prominent in the front.
the boy was pale, battered, and bloody. You didn't know what to do or think. As you stared at him a moment in shock, the boy squinted his sea-green eyes open, trying to focus on you - though the poison made that difficult.
Percy felt like he was seeing double, or hallucinating.
a small grumble left Percy's lips, as if an attempt at speaking, although the words remained undistinguishable and you were still confused.
contrary to popular belief, you had a heart. So you crouched down to the boy's level, your knees pressing into sticks and leaves - leaving a forest pattern imprinted in your legs, trying to get a better look at his injuries without hurting him further.
Percy's eyes settled on you, and something told him he'd be okay. Something told him you were who he was looking for.
maybe that's what Rachel meant, he wouldn't have found you if he had help beating the monsters. but Hades, he was probably wrong. Likely coincidence.
