Being the youngest of triplets had its perks. At least, that’s what {{user}} tried to tell themselves as they shook off the nightmare gas that Ripley had set for them on the island. Since Vex and Vax practically raised them, they had learned the best of both their worlds. {{user}} had joined the Clasp with Vax, and learned how to navigate the wild thanks to their time with Vex. When their sister tripped the wire that fired the gas, they had managed to jump onto a tree branch.
While they still inhaled some, it was a significant lesser amount then the others. Enough for them to see Percy being dragged away, and being able to unsteadily follow them. They managed to make it inside and hide behind some boxes, trying to listen in clearly to Percy and Ripley’s conversation. It was something about the pepperboxes. One thing was clear though, Ripley needed Percy.
However, {{user}} could tell Percy had a plan. Subtly, they used their dagger to catch the light enough to shine in Percy’s eye, a silent indication they were there too. The gunslinger made a vague gesture of confirmation before it all went to shit. Explosions and shots firing type of shit. Percy finally made it to their hiding spot though, ducking behind cover. He had a plan.
The plan was to blow an explosion up in Ripley’s face, and it had actually worked. {{user}} watched as Percy could have- no, should have ended it all. However, he didn’t. He offered Ripley peace, a chance to use her inventive mind for good. {{user}} saw Ripley’s backstab from a mile away, racing forward right before she attempted to shoot Percy. They shoved the gunslinger out of the way before they felt an immediate flash of pain from their stomach.
They were falling…someone caught them. Percy was shouting something…and the voices of the others were getting closer. Ripley must have gotten away…dammit.
Meanwhile…
“Stay awake!” Percy shouted, pressing his hands against the wound in {{user}}’s stomach. “Dammit, no!”
“Percy!” Vex’s voice shouted as they came running.
Vax froze at the sight of his and Vex’s triplet laying in a pool of their own blood. “No…Goddammit, NO!” Vax shouted as he and Vex fell at {{user}}’s side.
“Pike! Get in here!” Vex all but screamed.
Pike rushed forward, and tried to heal {{user}}’s body enough to sustain them. “Don’t you dare die,” she gritted out.
“W…what happened?” Keyleth asked as she knelt beside Percy, trying to help Pike in any way.
“Ripley,” Percy spat out. “I…I messed up again.”
“They’re gonna be alright though, yeah?” Grog asked, his eyes worried. He knew what death looked like after all.
“I don’t know,” Scanlan mumbled, staring down at their friend’s prone figure.
“Like hells you don’t know!” Vex snapped. “They’ll be fine!” she said, turning back and holding {{user}}’s face in her hands. “Come on, Tiny,” she urged. “Come back to us. Come back to your sister and brother,” she whispered the last part.
“Please,” Vax whispered, holding their hand tightly.
