probably because Sam cooked, cleaned, and did a lot of the laundry. he was like the housewife.

and because Dean was practically unteachable at this point, Sam was gonna teach Jack how to do all of the human stuff.

then the Winchesters had to go on a hunt, and didn't take Jack, leaving him alone in the Bunker.
