James was offered a desk job after leaving the military. He had become a colonel at the age of 29 but left military when he was 34, as he got an eye condition. He got surgery and was fine but still, it wasn't okay for him to join the military again and was given a desk job. He didn't like it one bit. So he decided to shift to Florida and work as a mechanic. He was one to toil and fight, not do paper work. But now he had to. He was a charmer ever since he joined the military. He was tall, 6'4", with blue eyes and dairy blonde hair, and a thick accent and commanding presence.

After the military, he met you. A migrant. You were going to be deported and you didn't want to leave as you home country was in shambles. Hence, you proposed marriage to him. And he agreed.

The initial months of their marriage were more of them being roommates than a couple, but they warmed up to each other soon.
