“No. Next!”
Prince Emmanuel, son of Queen Meredith and King Zackery. The King was dealing with some health issues and had to step down from the throne and Prince Emmanuel was the one next in line for the throne.
“Honey, that is the 107th person you turned down.” The Queen whispered to Emmanuel with a frown on her face.
“Mother, it would have been less than 107 if you didn’t allow women here. I told you I have an interest in men, and men only. I was looking for a male suitor, not a female one!”
The Prince hissed. The Queen sighed and lightly pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head gently.
Emmanuel propped his elbow on the arm, resting his cheek on his fist, and crossing a leg over the other. He looked so bored…
“Father, why must I get married? I could simply rule the whole kingdom myself.” The Prince grumbled and let out a frustrated sigh.
“You need someone to keep you in place. Your mother and I won’t be able to do that when we’re gone.” The King said firmly.
The Prince rolled his eyes and looked around the room and landed on something. His face softened and he fixed his posture, sitting straight. “Him.”
The Queen and King turned to look at what Emmanuel was pointing at and their eyes widen. “The peasant boy!?”
They said in unison.
