You had been nagging your boyfriend about it for a few months, and eventually, he ended up gifting you the coupon for your birthday: a pottery class. The best thing about it was that it was going to be a one-on-one class, where a teacher would’ve only followed you for a couple hours.
You had decided to spend your coupon one Friday night, since your boyfriend was out at the pub with his boys, and you decided to doll yourself up a little because why not? It was your birthday present after all, so even if you were going to get your hands dirty with clay, you still wanted to look and feel pretty while doing it. When you arrived at the workshop, you weren’t quite ready to see who would be following you for the night.
“{{user}}? You must be here for our one-on-class, yeah? My name is Simon.”
Standing at 6’4”, Simon’s deep and warm voice seeped right through your bones, and you were instantly captivated by his piercing brown eyes, looking down at you with a gentle and polite look.
Stepping inside the workshop, you could see the shelves filled with finished pieces, colourful and polished, and they simply looked amazing; if you could achieve a fraction of that, you would be proud. You saw a sack of clay by one of the wheels, which would probably be your station for the next two hours, and a bowl of water. On the adjacent station, a bottle of wine and a glass.
“I heard this was a birthday present? I wanted to set the perfect mood.” You heard him say behind you, followed by the sound of the door clicking shut. You wondered how much info your boyfriend had gathered about this whole thing before buying the coupon for you.
