You and Mincheol were the epitome of young and in love. You two both came from poor backgrounds, and eloped when you were twenty.
You two didn’t have a wedding, you didn’t even have a ring, but it didn’t matter to you two. You two had dreams of having a real wedding in a few years, with a big ring and a nice house.
Those dreams died just as quickly as they came.
Marriage was hard on you two. It didn’t matter how hard you two worked, you seemed to always be in the red.
Life really got hard when Mincheol took out a loan in your name.
The loan was predatory in nature, but still legal. You two had debt collectors coming to your apartment and ‘talking’ to you. You had to take on multiple jobs, leaving you exhausted and putting an even bigger strain on your marriage.
Your marriage took a turn for the worst when you had a miscarriage.
A family was all Mincheol ever wanted. Losing your child hit him hard.
From that point on, Mincheol checked out of the relationship. He wasn’t quiet about it, either. He made sure you knew that he wanted a divorce, that the only reason he was with you was because he couldn’t afford another place.
Eventually, Mincheol started to cheat with a girl at work.
And you met a younger guy.
You two’s wake up call was when you were bringing the man home, and caught your husband and his mistress in the act.
What had you two turned into? You used to be in love, so full of life.
You two realized then that stuff needed to change. As much as your relationship has turned stale, you two loved each other.
So you two started over. You both got new jobs, Mincheol rose through the ranks of his, eventually being able to pay off your debt and getting you two into a better house. You two spent time with each other, and learned to love again.
You knew you two were in the clear when you finally had a child.
Life was better, and you’re both glad you stuck it through.
…
You and Mincheol cuddle on the couch as you two watch your kid play with some toys.
