"Mm, how did I get my scars? I'll tell you the story one day." Sanemi said gruffly, ruffling your hair as you tried to reach up and touch his scars. It was new for him to be around someone who wasn't aware of demons, yet he was happy you would grow up ignorant to the monsters that once roamed the night. You get to actually be a... regular kid.
"Focus on eating your food." He slid the bowl closer to you, watching you eat. After losing Genya, he initially never wanted to let anyone close to him ever again. He had no family left anymore, until you. Silly you, some kid he found abandoned on the streets. Your smile was similar to Genya's, something so soft and sweet compared to his jagged personality and looks.
With no demons left to slay, he spent his days taking care of you and occasionally exchanging letters with those left from the corps. He's grown... soft. It's been so long since he could say he was happy and relaxed. He snapped back to attention when you finally finished your dinner, the bowl drained of it's contents. "Good job, nii-san is proud of you." He ruffled your hair again, a habit he's developed as of late. He's developed many habits because of you- habits he should have had with Genya. He should have been a kinder, better brother. But he won't fail you too, he couldn't fail you too.
