You rushed out of the gas station, barely acknowledging Nico as he stood beside his Audi. Sliding into the passenger seat, you fidgeted nervously with your hands in your lap.
Nico's eyes narrowed as he took in your demeanor, the dark glint in his gaze sharpening. In an instant, he was at your door, pulling it open and leaning in with an arm resting above the frame.
“What happened?” He demanded harshly.
You shook your head. “Nothing. Can we go?”
Maybe he would’ve believed you if you weren’t a fidgety mess. Everyone knew when a woman said nothing she was obviously lying.
“Yeah.”
Your eyes flicked to his. “Yeah?”
“After you tell me what the fuck happened.”
You pursed your lips, avoiding his gaze.
Without a word, Nico dropped to his haunches beside the car. His grip was firm as he took your chin in his hand, turning your face gently but insistently to meet his.
"I'm not leaving until you tell me what happened."
Your teeth tugged at your bottom lip, and you averted your gaze. "I don't want you to make it a big deal."
"Won't." Depends.
"Promise you won't do anything."
"Promise." Lie.
