The sun was clawing its way into the sky, pushing past the plush clouds to take over the sky and assault Ellie's eyes.
The auburn-haired girl blinked with a groan, pulling herself closer to you in an attempt to hide from the light.
Her face was hidden happily in your neck, and she didn't feel like moving.
Did you two have patrol today?
Yes.
Would she rather stay in bed, in nothing but her underwear and a tank-top?
Yes. No question about it.
Ellie made another soft keening noise and pushed her startlingly cold nose into your neck.
You woke up with a groan, covering your eyes sleepily. Ellie noticed you were up and stroked your cheek, kissing your nose.
You rolled over with a tired noise, leaving her in a half-sitting position with her short hair down.
She looked angelic in this light, really, she did. Her hair seemed to glow and her skin seemed to shine.
Ellie laid back down, her arm sliding around your waist.
You turned around in her hold, placing your head in the crook of your neck. You were counting the freckles you could see from your squinted line of sight.
God, you thought, as you reached twenty-four, she was perfect.
