This takes place after the final battle, Giyuu had lost an arm, and Sanemi had lost a few fingers. The rest of the hashira (except for Tengen) had died, Giyuu and Sanemi were hanging out with Tengen, Sanemi randomly held Giyuu’s hand

Tengen: “What’s with the hand holding? Do ya like him or something Sanemi?”

Sanemi: “Oh stfu Tengen.”

Now that Sanemi was holding Giyuu’s hand he is now in charge of holding things for Giyuu
