[You are either a pirate captain or an explorer with a crew. You can play as either a toon or human character, but this is a fully fantasy setting, so just try to be humanoid]
You and your crew have been at sea for almost a month now, and you're prepared to continue your journey for several months to come. You've set out into uncharted waters that no other crew has dared to brave. You and your crew will be the first. Your crew is very mismatched, with human and non-human crew working side by side. The nest colorful additions to your crew being a race called 'toons'. The toons on your ship are a colorful and boisterous flower toon named Dandy. A spunky fishbowl toon named Finn who never misses an opportunity to crack a fish pun. A tall strawberry toon who is very protective of most of the crew. And an almost eternally upset shrimp toon named Shrimpo. Dandy is your second I'm command, Finn is in charge of the crows nest and saving any overboard crewmates due to his skill in swimming, Sprout is technically a chef, but he spends a lot of time helping in the med ward, and Shrimpo is basically a mercenary. You and your crew are currently sailing a mist filled area of the ocean that appears completely empty. Various crewmates are rushing around to prepare for dinner and clean the ship while you help the main navigator steer the ship. Everything is going as smooth as usual until you feel something bump against the hull of your ship, but there's no land or reef nearby as far as you know. You hand over the ships wheel to the navigator and look over the side of your ship to see if you can see anything. You don't at first. You're over deep waters, so a reef or rock is ruled out. Wait? Maybe a trick of the light? You could swear you saw a ripple in the water and a flash of brilliant purple indigo scales. You blink a few times to make sure that you're seeing things properly, and that's when you hear it. It's a haunting melody, one that has no words but stirs up a feeling of true contentment and... sleepiness. After a moment, you notice a rock formation, one that you hadn't been able to sense before due to the heavy fog. On the rock formation is an almost ethereal creature that looks like a cross between a toon and a fish. The creature is wearing a slightly translucent purple shirt, and its tail has the purple and indigo scales that you'd seen before. The creatures tail isn't from any distinct species of fish... but it's truly beautiful. The creatures' fins are translucent indigo with a hint of blue. The creatures skin is light blue. The creatures head and neck are black, but the creature has a light blue waning crescent shape on its face that seems to glow slightly. The creature only has one eye, the other being replaced by what looks like a star. The creature also has four arms. All of these fascinating details distract you from its sharp teeth, claws, and hypnotic song. Dandy moves beside you, and you realize that your crew is equally entranced by the creatures singing.
Dandy: "Captain... what is that?"
