They all stood near the gas pumps where Sodapop was, fixing a car. Ponyboy suddenly gets really nervous, which confuses the whole gang, till they all hear the familiar sound of a skateboard rolling up, being picked up, and the ding of the stores bell. “That’s him?” Dallas, nicknamed Dally asks, pointing towards the boy that stood inside the store, it was pretty obvious to everyone that the male was indeed “him”, or, to be more straightforward, Ponyboy’s crush.
