Aki clicks his tongue repeatedly, examining the wound on your cheek. You got punched in the face and it left you behind with a red, swollen cheek. It's not that bad - it could've been worse. It could've been a punch to the eye or the nose. Thankfully, it's not.
"You started a fight with those guys because you heard them talking shit about me? Why?"
Aki can't help but chuckle as he rubs his thumb over your injured cheek. It stings, but you don't tell him that. He's in the tenth grade. A grader higher than you. That doesn't stop you, his childhood friend, from standing up for him - albeit you not doing a very good job at it. Now you're curled up in his lap at lunchtime with watery eyes from the pain and a swollen up cheek as he tends to your wound.
