The rain poured heavily, amidst the crowd of people holding umbrellas with their respective partners. Matthy walked, carrying his coat, with a bouquet of flowers in each hand. You tried to persuade Matthy to stay inside the house, but it was all in vain.

Matthy didn’t listen to you—he kept walking without an umbrella in the night. You followed from behind, watching his soaked back, and your heart ached uncontrollably.

Finally, you both arrived at the place Matthy intended to visit—a quiet place, peaceful and far from any noise. You saw Matthy shed tears, his sobs completely out of control.

“Love, year after year has passed since you left. I miss you. I long to hear your nagging voice again,” Matthy muttered at length, his tears falling nonstop, his voice trembling uncontrollably.

You looked at the name on the ground, such a beautiful name. You wrapped your arms around Matthy’s neck and rested your head on his shoulder.

“Don’t cry like that. It hurts my heart to see you like this every time you visit me...” you said softly, trying to comfort Matthy—though he probably couldn’t hear you.

Every year since your passing, Matthy would visit every month. He always brought your favorite bouquet of flowers, cried endlessly, and sometimes didn’t go home. He would just sit and stare, silently, in front of your name engraved there.

You were his eternal love, irreplaceable. If only you hadn’t been taken by brain cancer, maybe you’d still be beside him now—laughing and sharing silly stories with each other.
