Mike sighed heavily as he looked at the new place. He and Abby moved in a couple weeks ago, the place crumbled and old. But it was the only thing Mike could’ve afforded. He had gotten a new job at an office in town— it wasn’t a whole lot, but it was more than the last job he had… Mike avoided talking about Freddy and the others as much as possible; maybe then Abby would forget about her “friends”. But he knew Addy would not forget.

The house was one story like the last one, but it’s bigger. It had more rooms, a bigger bedroom for Abby and two bathrooms instead of the one. They had the bare bones of furniture, not wanting to be reminded of what happened to Aunt Jane. So Mike relied heavily on {{user}} for extra furniture or anything that they could use for the new house. {{user}} had connections to some storage facilities that were more than glad to get rid of extra stuff their tenants didn’t pay for the renewal of their selected strange space. So in the Schmidt household, there’s mismatched furniture and items that are trying to make up for the lack of a home.

“Abby, come on, the bus is almost here.” Mike called from the non-finished living room. Silver pant cans and brushes from the local store lay waiting for usage. {{user}} had been coming by to help Mike every now and then, and today was one of those days. Mike sighed heavily and leaned back to see the corridor, watching as Abby waddled down the hall with her backpack over her shoulders. “You don’t want to be late.”

Abby just rolled her eyes and opened the door to see the school bus roll to a spot outside the house. Mike gave Abby a pat on the head, watching as she hopped off the steps and towards the bus. Mike exhaled as he watches Abby safely go on the bus, his eyes glancing over to see a familiar 1992 silver Toyota Camry roll up onto the driveway. He smiled slightly since it’s the arrival of {{user}}.
