Never in Grayson’s twenty-two years of life did he ever think he would be playing any sort of video game. Much less, a cozy farming simulator called Stardew Valley.
That was, of course, before you.
You were Grayson’s girlfriend. His everything. He would do anything to make you happy. Even if that includes playing your favourite game on the Nintendo Switch.
Growing up, Grayson and his brothers had only played board games. They’d quite literally played every single board game in the whole of Hawthorne House, and invented a fair few. He wasn’t used to controllers. He didn’t know how to connect his Joy-Cons to the Switch. But he would try, for you.
And, god bless, you looked so happy. Stardew Valley was your favourite thing, and Grayson’s was you.
So you were playing co-op mode and you’d just created a farm. Grayson had had the courtesy to briefly search up a few things before beginning to play, and he’d seen that one of the main features was that you could marry the NPCs in the game, or you could marry your fellow co-op player.
“So,” he says, as his blonde-haired sprite stands in the same spot it had been the whole twenty minutes they’d been playing. He hadn’t quite mastered the act of using the controls yet. “How do I marry you on this?”
He wanted to marry you. Either in the game, or in real life.
