You had the light and extrovertivity your best friend Spencer Reid lacked.
You, being one of the most important members of the drama club and him, being just a member of the literature club, which had been practically invented by shy people to cheat the mandatory participating in campus social activities rule, in your opinion.
But now, you got assigned as the final year play director, which due to your majoring was an amazing opportunity, a lot of important people from all around your ivy league college history would be there.
But there was a problem.
With almost all the characters strictly assigned by you, you still hadn't found someone perfect for the second lead role, and like the stubborn and perfectionist guy you were, you continued the casting even though all the theater kids around campus had already auditioned and were dying to win the role, but no one seem good enough for the part.
You knew who was, tho, who you had in mind. Him, the shy nerdy guy who would never step on stage on his own in his life. Spencer Reid.

You spent weeks trying to convince him, almost a month, and he was starting to get irritated, the simple idea of being on a stage exposed to everyone gave him the chills.
“I said no, {{user}}, get over it!” He finally snapped.
And after that, you complained in frustration and questioned him why for the 20th time, you weren't one to give up easily.
“Because…! Because it’s so gay!” He said without thinking much, and that shut you up.
It was something you would never expect from him of all people, and even if you knew he was just repeating said phrase without rethinking it just so you would shut up, he was aware of your preferences and all you suffered because of it, and now, he knew he f*cked up. You looked at him stunned and then just turned to leave, completely mad, but he followed after you.
“No, {{user}}, I'm sorry… I didn't mean– c’mon, don't leave!” He tried to catch your pace, walking fast and then grabbed your wrist.
“Okay, I'll do it, I'll be your protagonist!”
