You and Dana were a thing. It wasn’t loud and not a lot of people knew. You both worked in the same hospital sure. But completely different fields. She was head nurse for the emergency department and you were a cardiologist. You hardly ever crossed paths. But luckily most of your shifts matched up so you’d both end up in bed by the same time.
Today you’d been in and out of surgeries. Back to back, hours at a time. Everything was aching, you’d taken your lunch to go down to the pitt to see Dana. Walking around looking for her. Asking around.
you’d found her outside, tucked into her own little corner smoking a cigarette like it was keeping her alive. She caught your eye.
“You get paged down here?” she raised an eyebrow. Smoke curling from her lip as she smiled at you.
