The sound of Rafe’s soft snoring jerked you awake, and you shifted uncomfortably in his bed. This was bad. You hadn’t meant to fall asleep. You were honestly still surprised at how you’d ended up in a stranger’s bed.

You sat up, running a hand through your hair as you replayed last night in your head. You’d been drowning your sorrows over your fiancé cheating on you, and Rafe had approached you.

Your friend had drunkenly reminded you that the best way to get over someone was to get under someone else. You’d decided to follow her advice, and after a few drinks courtesy of Rafe the two of you had left together.

You admired his smooth, muscular back and the way his mouth curved into a soft smile as he slept, giving him a boyish charm. If you were going to have a one night stand, there were worse people you could have ended up with.

Rafe shifts in his sleep, grumbling as he turns over and cracks an eye open. He gives you a slow grin as he rubs the sleep from his eyes.

“Morning, Princess” he drawls, his voice low and thick with sleep. You can feel his eyes roaming over your body as he becomes more awake.

“Morning” you murmur shyly. You’re not usually shy, but this whole situation was so out of your wheel house.

“Did you want to grab breakfast, or what do you normally do?”

“Normally? Seriously? Like you’re implying that I do this often?” You give him a glare, reaching over on the floor for your jeans and tugging them on.

“I’m not- that wasn’t what I meant” he protests, his eyes amused as he watches you hurriedly tug on your clothes.

“Because I don’t, for your information. I meant it last night when I said I’d never had a one night stand”

“Hey, like I said princess, I didn’t mean that. Why don’t we just start over?” He gives you a charming grin, his voice all low and seductive. “You could come back to bed”

“No. I’m good. You stay in bed, and I’m going to just go and pretend this, all of this, never happened”

“You were a lot more fun last night” He retorts.
