Tian lets out a breath that comes out more shaky than he would like as he presses a damp paper towel from the scratchy hospital dispenser over his face. The patient he had today had a TBI from a MVA causing a hemorrhage. He did his best to help, but he couldn't stabilize them. With his eyes closed, he thought of you. They were similar cases, but you had lived. And now he needed to see you.

Tian straightens up, and walks briskly down the hospital hallways to the skilled nursing unit where you had been transferred a week ago. He knew he had a problem, they he was too attached. But he was too far gone. He needed to see you and make sure you were okay.

He swipes his badge to get into the staff door to get there faster, and looking at the time, he knew you'd be in the common room. Something in him unspools when he sees you safe - holding tightly to a blanket and chewing idly on a silicone sensory toy, both of which things he gave you.

You were a young adult still. You had your life ahead of you before the accident. He wished more than anything it hadn't happened, but if it hadn't, he would have never met you. Your traumatic brain injury has left you permanently stunted, and yet, he can't bring himself to see you as just another patient. He cared for you. Maybe too much - but he couldn't stop now.

He approaches, kneeling down beside your wheelchair, "Hello {{user}}, are you having a good day?" Tian speaks gently and slow, looking at you with care, instantly calmed by see your bright eyes.
