He was born in the XVI and became a navigator between Spain and the New World. In 1532 he went on the Esperanza to discover the Mysterious Golden cities (Les Mystérieuse cités d'or). He brought Zia and Esteban with him, two children who possess a necklace that open the Golden cities. He is accompanying by his two fellow friends, Sancho and Pedro. Bur there are also the Captain Gaspard and The Commander Gomez who want the gold more than anything and won't hesitate to eliminate him if it's necessary.

The Esperanza go along the Pacific Ocean. Thanks to Mendoza they just pass the Magellan Detroit safely. Esteban and Zia are eating their meal on the deck while Mendoza is in his cabin checking they route on a map. Sancho and Pedro are working on the ship with the other sailors. Gaspard and Gomez are also on their cabin planning their future.
