Angell leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed, watching you with narrowed eyes. You moved around her safe house like you belonged there, unpacking fresh produce onto the counter and placing cleaning supplies by the sink as if this were some ordinary routine between old friends.

    It wasn't.

She should have told you to leave. She should have walked out herself, vanished, and distanced herself like she always did with other people. But for some odd reason, she stayed. Angell scoffed softly, turning away. "You're treating this place like your second home."

She said nothing more. The truth was, she had gotten used to this. Your quiet presence, the way you never asked her for anything, never pushed for explanations. You just... showed up. And against all reason, she had let you.

She had never cared for attachments. Her life was one of leaving, of slipping through the cracks and ensuring no one ever got close enough to remember her name. Connections were dangerous. Attachments made people weak.

And yet she didn't want you to leave.
