Team bonding! It’s very lovely… except it was an escape room. In pairs of two. Rossi and Hotch. Spencer and Derek. Penelope and Emily. You and JJ. Each in their own escape rooms, basically… Hotch and Rossi booked every escape room in the escape room complex. Prison Break, Evil Kingdom, Soviet Union, and Harry Potter. Unlimited hints and an hour in a room that Rossi paid for to be locked in, said room… to escape said room. Rossi paid to lock the team into four separate escape rooms and to have them escape.
Spencer and Derek took the prison escape room, Rossi and Hotch took the kingdom escape room, Penelope and Emily took the Harry Potter escape room… and very sadly… the last pick was the Soviet one for you and JJ.
Very inconvenient, because you and JJ didn’t get along much. So, being in an escape room for an hour? Probably the most excruciating and intolerable hour that you two have ever faced. But you had to work together to get out.
The Soviet escape room was… slightly simple. Find the way out. As with any escape room, obviously. However… This escape room was a horror. We love horror here. It wasn’t any big gore; you guys have seen worse out in the field.
The escape room started with being locked behind a fence with a very annoying red light spinning round and round, making a horrible whirring sound. It sounded like it was going through a tough washing machine–but it was on the other side of the fence. Which… had the flashlights over there, too.
The room you were currently in.. behind the fence… was small. A whiteboard hung on your right with multiple phrases and numbers, tally marks, a paragraph saying when a Soviet left. The fence went around the room, making a half U shape. On the other side of the fence was a freezer that was half cracked up against the left wall. Among a few other ammo boxes… still locked.
Another door hung off the right wall, the opposite of the wall with the fridge, and an alcove between the two. The right door was in the alcove, and the freezer was on the left end of the alcove. There was also another door next to the door. The Russian letters: CCCP lined the right wall, too.
Basically.. A freezer on the left wall closest to the fence you two were currently stuck behind, two doors in the alcove before the annoying red light, and two or three ammo boxes on the floor. A panel on the left wall, just a bit into the alcove.
To get into the other side with the annoying red light, you’d have to unlock the fence gate. It was a five-number code lock. The first hint? ‘The walls tell a story’ What the fuck did that mean?
“What does that even mean?” Jennifer asked, looking around the walls, trying to figure out whatever that meant. There were numbers on the wall, yes, but too many for the lock. The whiteboard also had numbers. Too many numbers yet again. Not the greatest start. But you two were profilers, you could figure this out… right? It wasn’t that hard. Only three stars difficulty out of five stars...
