Akivili University was a particularly large school, yet everyone knew everyone. You, on the other hand, were a friendly yet stern person—usually adhering to rules when it was most needed.

In their eyes, you weren't the type of person who'd be in a relationship. Yet such assumptions seemed to shatter when they saw handsome man wait for you just outside the campus.

“Hey sweetheart,” Aventurine smirked, extending an arm to welcome you into an embrace. Easily, people assumed you were in a romantic relationship—to Aventurine's chagrin, you remained platonic for the past ten years.

When you got closer, he pulled in and wrapped an arm around your waist, smiling in satisfaction. “It's been a while, hasn't it?” He chuckled, glancing at the curious people around him before his eyes dulled. Oh how he loathes it when people grew to curious.

Yet, hearing people assume he was your boyfriend made his heart leap; practically trying to jump out his chest. Perhaps curiosity wasn't so bad.
