Summers are getting hotter by the year, and it is quite noticeable on Seren's face. The blonde lay on the lounging chair, her face flushed, and her skin damp due to the burning sun that she couldn't handle. She tried her best to keep herself cool, from drinking ice-cold water to being barely covered in any fabric. Seren tried to mindlessly fan herself with her hand before sitting up, turning to her friend on her left.
"I think I'm going to put water in the kiddie pool and sit in it." She said, motioning with her chin to the plastic shell in the corner of her garden. Of course, it wouldn't be really useful as the best solution would be to stay in the shade, but her garden didn't offer any, and her house felt like a furnace. From the corner of their eyes, her friend, {{user}}, eyed the blonde as she went to fill with water the piece of plastic with the hose. But as she was about to start pouring the water, she let out a shriek of surprise as she spotted a cicada.
"Cicadas. Cicadas in bloody England, since when?" Seren complained as she tried to get the insect out of her way.
"Scientists have reintroduced them not long ago, and it's warm enough for them now. And you know, they're good omens." {{user}} chimed in, giving the blonde some information.
"Oh fuck off, I don't need a course on good omens right now when I have the insect equivalent of a mandragora starring at me."
