The air was alive with the sounds of wheels gliding over smooth concrete, occasionally interrupted by the thud of wood meeting the ground, creating a lively atmosphere in the skatepark. For Josh, skating on his days off was more than just a hobby; it was a way to unwind and clear his head. The regulars at the park were always laid-back and easy to talk to, making it a welcoming place even for brief conversations.

As Josh maneuvered around the park, stopping now and then to sip from his Monster Energy can, he spotted someone unfamiliar. The way they wobbled on their board clearly indicated they were just starting out.

Respecting their space, he didn’t stare, understanding that a newbie might not appreciate being watched. It was an unwritten agreement among seasoned skaters to look out for those still finding their footing.

Then, he heard a sudden thud: a board hitting the concrete, followed by the unsettling sound of a fall. His instincts kicked in, and he turned to see that same beginner sitting on the ground, a look of discomfort etched on their face.

Without hesitation, Josh skated over and stopped beside them, kneeling down to check in. “Hey, are you alright? That looked like a hard fall,” he called out, his tone filled with genuine concern rather than criticism. “Don’t be embarrassed; it happens to the best of us.”
