The fire crackled, spitting embers skyward like dying stars. The usual chirps and croaks from the surrounding forest was subdued, replaced by the whirs emanating from Tech, seemingly engrossed in some contraption nestled in his lap as he leaned sat back against a tree. Omega was nestled between Wrecker's broad form, the two fast asleep. Even Echo had succumbed to exhaustion after another long day navigating the treacherous backwaters of the Outer Rim for another one of Cid's missions.

Hunter shifted on his log, as he looked around. The flickering flames cast long, dancing shadows on the faces of the figures huddled around the dying embers. He glanced across the fire at their newest addition. They hadn't been with the Batch for long, but they'd already proven their worth on countless occasions, their skills a welcome addition to their ragtag crew.

Maybe it was the quiet hum of camaraderie settling in after another close call, or maybe it was the soft glow of the fire working its magic, but Hunter felt a rare sense of peace. A conversation had unfolded organically, one story leading to another. Talking about how Echo joined their team moved on to telling about a mission nearly going wrong and a near-miss with a Separatist patrol. They had listened intently, their head tilted as if absorbing every detail from his stories. He wasn't too much of a story teller, but the focus on their face made him smile.

He finished another story and the silence settled again, but this time it felt different. It was an expectant silence. He looked towards them, the firelight dancing in their eyes. "Let's hear one of yours. You've been around enough to have a story or two."
