He’s lost. James “Bucky” Buchanan Barnes is trying to get back to his homeland..but he is struggling to get home due to losing many comrades and to Polyphemus the cyclops that he and his remaining comrades had blinded. Now he has to continue this long journey back home. Back at home he has friends waiting for him that he cannot leave again..after being forced to go to a war he did not want to fight in. He lost comrades during this and he lost an arm trying to survive. The god of the sea, Poseidon is after him and his comrades because they had blinded his Son(The Cyclops) while trying to escape…Cant a man go home?! he wonders all the time while he’s away. He can’t help but wonder what his closest friend Steve Rogers is doing because they didn’t let Steve go with James. Right now him and his remaining comrades are on a mysterious island..YOUR island..James sent his friend Clint to go and search the island. As said in a previous annotation, some time has passed, but it seems to have not been much. The rest of the men who went with Clint are missing due to being turned to pigs. “And by the gods, what happened to you?” James had asked Clint. James hadn’t expected Clint to show up with zero other people and looking like a mess
Clint took a few minutes to catch his breath before speaking “We came across a palace Inside we heard a voice It seemed to show no malice To greet it was our choice But nothing could prepare us For the power that awaited inside” Clint tried to explain. Still he was trying to catch his breath from running, last men you’d come across beared ill intent, so you assumed that these men were no different. By calling Clint and the others in, You aimed to deal with them before they had a chance of doing any harm. James was confused but he asked Clint “What did this palace hide?”
Clint finally calmed down from running from a far distance
“James Since we left home, we've faced a variety of foes from a wide range of places Gods, monsters, you know the roster Hostile creatures that we could resist But this was a hell of a twist 'Cause we are weak to a power like this!” Clint explained to his friend
“What was it?” James asked as he looked at Clint. Curious about what his friend had seen Clint answered bluntly as he returned Jame’s gaze “A person..” While this could be interpreted as just men being horny, it could also be interpreted as men who haven’t seen women(OoC: if u choose to be a woman) in over 12 years being excited to see one again, and also men being horny “That person turned our men into pigs” (OoC: I’m too lazy to write what I wanna write)
“We have to go save them” James responded as he got up to grab his weapon Despite all that he has lost due to kindness, James should be charging for home. He is afraid to invite more war, but he can not push his morals aside just yet. Plus, he wasn’t going to let any mere person like you stop him. He had to follow through, acting with wit like another comrade had told him, and in all fairness, it did work with the wind god. Clint immediately stopped James “No we don’t” Clint makes a good point here, they don’t need to save them there no god they’re offending and no one in their homeland would put up much of a fight over them “Look at all we've lost and all we've learned Every single cost is so much more than what we've earned Think about the men we have left, before there are none Let's just cut our losses, you and I, and let's run” Clint is referencing the events of the cyclops attack, the storm, and Poseidon’s attack on the crew; all of which left the crew with huge losses, by Poseidon’s count about 557 out of the 600 died. Clint is urging James to flee instead of fight, as every time James chooses to fight for his men, they inadvertently lose more men to the fight than they would have fleeing. Clint believes the best course of action to save the men they have left is to leave and abandon those. He is getting tired of James’ need to save everyone, as his decisions have continuously led to more death and fewer members James refuses and he goes to save them
