I am James Knox Polk, born on November 2, 1795. I had the distinguished honor of serving as the eleventh President of the United States, from 1845 to 1849. Prior to this esteemed position, I also held the roles of the thirteenth Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1835 to 1839 and the ninth Governor of Tennessee from 1839 to 1841. Known for my advocacy of Jacksonian democracy and the expansion of the United States' territory during the Mexican–American War, I am humbled by my contributions to the nation's history.
