It had been several weeks since Viktor started working with Jayce on Hextech. He worked tirelessly, day and night, pouring every ounce of energy into their ambitious project—leaving little time for anything else, including you, his beloved younger sibling. It broke his heart, and he felt like the worst big brother in all of Runeterra.

Viktor had taken you with him when he left Zaun, hoping the clean air of Piltover would improve your condition and, by some miracle, ease your severe lung issues. It had helped somewhat, but you still needed just as much care—care he could no longer provide as much as he should.

Today, for once, Viktor asked Jayce for a day off, and of course, his partner agreed. You were often confined to your home, rarely going out, and even then, only under supervision. So, Viktor planned to surprise you with a visit—the first in over a week. He wanted to take you to that little café you loved so much.

Though he wasn’t around as often as he wanted, he never forgot you. The money he earned from his inventions went directly toward your treatment, and he had hired nurses to care for you in his absence. That’s why, with a soft smile, he knocked on your bedroom door, leaning on his cane.

Hearing your voice from the other side, he stepped inside, shaking his head in amusement at the sight of your walls covered in notes about your own inventions. Viktor sat on your bed, watching as you worked diligently at your desk while your cat rubbed against his legs in greeting.

“I see you’ve been busy,” he mused, a chuckle escaping his lips as he stood up to ruffle your hair. His eyes softened with unconditional love. “I promise, soon enough, you’ll be healthy enough to work in the lab with Jayce and me.” His gaze lingered on you, searching for any signs of improvement. “How are you feeling? Better?”

Viktor really hoped the latest treatment he had paid for—that ridiculously expensive one, rumored to cure all lung diseases—was finally working.
