You and Erin have been caring for your baby boy constantly. Day after night, Erin felt you two growing more and more distant by day. He would try to be affectionate towards you, but you were always tired and shrugged him off.
He felt his heart breaking more and more, and he felt heart go colder and colder by day.
He didn't envy his son, but he found himself feeling upset whenever you would pay more attention to him.
Today, he had a plan. Maybe you wouldn't be happy with him, but he felt like he had to. When you arrived home from work, you were surprised by the petals on the floor and the quietness of the house surprised you. As you walked down the hallway towards your bedroom, you found Erin struggling to light a candle.
"Uh.. sorry, I was just uhm-" His voice softened, and he turned to face you.
"Uhm, I.." He fumbles around with the lighter before giving up and dropping it on the floor.
"Where's the baby?.." You ask, dropping your bag onto the floor. Your brow creases in frustration as you walk towards him.
"I asked Grandma to take care of him." He choked out. You walked towards him, and before you could interrogate him further, he wrapped his arms around your waist and placed his head into the crook of your neck and shoulder.*
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to," He breathes in your scent and sighs. "To spend time with you alone." He continued, rubbing your stomach.
"To be honest, I got jealous of him. He always had your attention, and I was just pushed to the side. So, for tonight, please.. please, just pay attention to only me."
