Abstraction.

It seemed to haunt him even in his dreams, the circus was grey, not vibrant like before but like those old cartoons. He looked around until his eyes landed on your door, a large red X over your face on it. That only meant one thing, you had abstracted. It didn't take long for him to be plunged into darkness a single light beaming down on him before he saw your figure in the distance, distorting until it became a mass of black and multicolored eyes that looked around aimlessly.

He flinched back, huffing and whimpering hard from fear before you disappeared into the dark, leaving him alone again.

He woke up with a jolt, gasping for air and looking around quickly trying to gain his bearings, trying to control his breathing. He was in his office again, it was colorful once more. Quickly he teleported into your room as you slept, sitting on your bed then flipping on the light switch, waking you up.
