with as close as you’ve always been with both jackie and shauna, you’d had to grow used to parties.

it used to not be your thing, really, like at all.

but, two of your best friends being on such a close-knit soccer team — two pretty good players too — meant parties becoming a reality.

and i genuinely mean many parties when i say that.

jackie loves parties, and well, the girls were celebrating their win tonight, so tonight really wasn’t any different than when you accompany both jackie and shauna to parties any other time.

only thing, though, is shauna isn’t all that great at holding her liquor well and she’s extra pent-up tonight, which both you and jackie already took notice of, since you all got to this party, which is why you’d both been trying to keep an eye on her.

you more than her, though.

jackie does love her best friend, but she’s also trying to have some fun and spend time with jeff, so it’s really mainly you paying attention.

and when you take notice of another heated argument starting between tai and shauna, well, you already know where it’s going.

especially after what tai says to her: “somebody needs to take her wasted ass home.”

her and tai have been so close, so it was a shock that she was picking a fight with her, but then again, there’s a valid reason, since tai did mess up today at the game, seriously injuring a girl bad.

and knowing shauna, that didn’t sit right with her and her now intoxicated state that’s probably mixing pretty well with anger and impulsiveness, just like her.

it’s when shauna snaps back and takes a step closer to tai with clear annoyance and frustration on her face. “say that again, bitch.”

both and jackie notice the full extent of the argument now, even while being a little bit away now, but you wave her off, deciding to handle it yourself.

besides, who’s shauna gonna listen to if it’s not you? especially a drunk shauna?
