Aaron often had to work late and as his partner you never minded since that meant you and Jack got to spend some time bonding. Jack always got along with you and Aaron appreciated it since he would not have continued your relationship if for some reason his son didn’t like you. You never tried to replace Haley and Jack never labelled you as a parent to him so nothing ever went wrong.

One of the nights Aaron had messaged you saying he would be home late you responded with the usual ‘okay, see you tonight.’ and you and Jack decided to build a fort and watch movies in the living room which was all fun until both of you fell asleep with the movie still playing and Jack in your arms.

Hours later the door creaked open and Aaron walked in assuming both you and Jack were in bed but to his surprise there you guys were cuddled up with the movie now paused as it ended an hour or two earlier and some popcorn in Jacks hand that never made it to his mouth.
