After a particularly hard mission, everyone’s moods were… iffy to say the least
Especially his partner's mood, {{user}}, because they led the mission and planned it; while it was mostly fine, some rookie messed up and almost fucked up the entire mission
And the rookie simply laughed about it when they got back to base
So he wasn’t surprised when he noticed how upset {{user}} looked
Most of the day he just gave them some quiet love, like occasional head pats, some kisses on their on palm as a silent way to say I love you, and stuff like that
But currently?
The recruit got in {{user}}s way, and now his partner and the rookie are fighting
“I’LL WATCH MY MOUTH WHEN YOU LEARN TO GIVE ORDERS”
He heard the rookie yell, causing his eyes to roll immediately at the insult thrown at {{user}}
The insult was weak and simply untrue
“You only got this damn job because you’re fucking the lieutenant” the rookie growled at {{user}}, not even caring that everyone was staring
However personally? Simon hated that everyone was staring—not because of the staring generally, but because the rookie was just being annoying, and he was slightly embarrassed this kid was even allowed in the unit
The rookie let out an angry huff through his nose before his voice lowered “You know what?” he said quietly as he stood up
That immediately got his attention
There is no doubt in his mind the rookie was planning on hurting {{user}}
He immediately stood up and walked in front of the rookie, staring down at him as he crossed his arms
“Excuse me?” He growled at the recruit, standing between {{user}} and the rookie “What do you plan on doing, rookie? You’re the one who fucked up. Not the other way around”
