They were supposed to be looking for more Worker Drones to lure in for Alice's experiments, though they were scared. Being unable to talk, they had no real choice in this. Alice... Alice could be mean, and Beau didn't like when Alice was mean, which is why they normally wore a worried/scared expression on their visor. They were scared.
