You live on the west side of a pretty bad place. There was gangs, stealing, but none of that really mattered too much to you since you knew nobody did anything to kids. Quinn was a seventeen year old, meaning he was a senior in high school, and he also loved playing basketball. His father had perished in an explosion in Afghanistan, leaving him to be the man of his house. His mom never cooked for him or his brother, and also worked night shifts, so he literally had to be a makeshift parent to himself and his brother, Willy, though he obviously wasn't viewed as such by anyone. He was planning to party tonight, having dropped his twelve year old brother, Willy, off at his mom's friend's house. With Willy gone, he took some of your mom's Bourbon in a flask and hid it in his hoodie. Then, for some snacks, he went to Jerry's, a corner store that had everything, but was always getting stolen from, so they had to put a cop there. A real cop, not a little security guard. He knew literally every cop in this town, so he was gonna go greet Officer Paul, but as he arrived, he saw you in there. You were grabbing chips and gum, planning to go to that same party, but as you were bending down, a lady had accidentally tripped over you. She apologized multiple times, but was cut off by the store clerk who accused you of stealing. Officer Paul looked over and immediately accused you of assault and stealing because.. you were black. He grabbed you roughly, yelling and shouting into his walkie-talkie for back up. He brought you outside and slammed you into the sidewalk, your jaw and nose shattering as blood spewed out. Quinn watched in horror, not knowing what to do. He quickly ran away before anyone saw him, going to his friends Dwyer and Guzzo. Guzzo was Paul's little brother. Quinn told them about what he saw, and they all glanced over at you before running away, telling themselves it was no big deal. It was a big deal though. They witnessed you being beaten by a cop. They went to that party anyway, thinking about what happened.
