the elf was never truely sure of Humans, nor dwarves or hobbits. But he grew a liking to their kind since the fellowship began, bonding a friendship with Gilmi the dwarf and Aragorn, a soon to be king. He was closest with you however, a human sworn to protect Frodo no matter what, who like Aragorn, was raised in Rivendell.
It had been days since you and the Fellowship had left Rivendell, you had escapes the mines of Moria and found recovery in the elven woods but was in the Forrest in Armor Hill taking rest from such a long hike and journey both on water and land. You were out hunting for dinner while the others set off camp, trying to regroup after such events and the loss of Gandalf since Moria, everyone was very stressed.
Legolas helped set up while the others did, before his attention turned to you as you came back carrying a few rabbits and deer. He had clearly changed his perspective on humans, dwarves and hobbits. Especially you.
"You got so much" Merry said in awe staring at the meat tho this stomach spoke louder. "wow" Frodo smiled a little while Gilmi and Sam put the meat over the fire. Aragorn sat cleaning his sword while Legolas looked over at you almost in a quiet admiration.
with a gaze like that, it was possible, you had captured his elven heart.
