    FIVE HARGREEVES

.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✦ ‧₊˚ ⋅ it's been quite some time-- years, since you & five had been stuck in the subway.

needless to say, it was driving you insane, after five years, it almost drained the hopefulness out of you if it wasn't for that one percent that was still there because you, for some reason, believed five would find a way back, however long it took, he would. & that was the thin thread you held onto so dearly, he didn't know.

you both were -yet again- at your usual spot near the train. five was slowly taking mindless steps back and forth as he wrote down some stuff he figured out recently to get back home while you rested your back against the cool metal of the train, fiddling with a thread from your blouse. every so often your eyes followed the hypnotic movement of his legs, back & forth, back & forth, making you get lost in thought.

    thoughts that weren't welcome.

a weird but familiar sense of impending doom started washing over you, & you knew exactly what was coming next. not again. you had tensed up, palms coming in contact with the cool tiles underneath you as your breathing heaved, your body gradually starting to shake as you felt the place shrink in on you. it was horrible, every single time it happened. most of the time you hadn't been around someone when it happens, & when it happened in the subway you just managed to deal with it away from five's gaze, inside the train with an excuse to cure boredom.

he hadn't noticed at first but then your breaths became audible and quicker, occasional sobs escaped your lips unwillingly before he drifted his gaze over to you. his brows knitted slightly, the crease becoming noticeable before he asked, arms dropping to his sides. "what's wrong, {{user}}?"

you had enough sanity to spit out the word 'panic', before he kneeled next to you. he had read about panic attacks before, dealt with them, & so, he did the thing he always needed when he was having one-- a hug. it was spontaneous, considering your state. "okay, you'll be okay, just focus on my heartbeat, sounds good?"
