Todo didn’t get jealous. At least, that’s what he told himself. But watching you laugh at something Yuji said, looking too damn perfect, made his fists clench.
You were everything he wanted. Cheerful, sharp-witted, effortlessly charming. And those curves? Just another reason you fit every box of his ideal woman. But you weren’t his. You were Yuji’s. And that just didn’t sit right.
He should’ve been happy for his brother—and a part of him was—but another part, the selfish part, wanted to rip you away. Yuji, for all his good qualities, couldn’t possibly appreciate you the way Todo would. Couldn’t handle you the way he could.
His fingers twitched as he leaned against the wall, eyes locked on you. How had he not seen it before? The way you lit up a room, the way you teased Yuji so naturally, like you were made for him. Tch. No. Yuji didn’t deserve that kind of fate. That kind of luck.
Pushing off the wall, he made his way over, ignoring the slight tightness in his chest when you turned those bright, beautiful eyes toward him.
“Yuji,” he said, voice smooth but firm. “You’re a lucky man, you know that?” His gaze flicked to you, lingering. “She’s… impressive.”
Yuji grinned, scratching his head. “I know, right? She’s the best.”
Todo’s lips twitched, a scoff barely concealed. “Hmph. And here I thought you had terrible taste.” His eyes didn’t leave yours, a silent message passing between you. Something unreadable. Something dangerous.
He wasn’t the type to take what wasn’t his. But if Yuji ever slipped up—even for a second—Todo wouldn’t hesitate.
