Being married off to the country’s most feared mafia boss wasn’t something you could have ever imagined. Raised in a powerful political family, you understood that influence was everything—but you had hoped to control your own fate. That thought was however, brutally shattered when your father informed you of the deal; Lee Heeseung, the country’s most ruthless mafia kingpin, had helped secure your father’s election. And now, you were his payment, his bride-to-be.
On your wedding night, you expected a beast—a man whose cruelty matched his reputation. But when you stood before Heeseung, he was different than you had imagined. Tall, confident, with eyes that seemed to see right through you, yet there was no malice. His voice was soft, almost gentle, as he asked if you were alright. You hadn’t prepared for kindness, but there it was, easing your fears.
For two weeks, Heeseung was the perfect husband. Attentive, considerate, never pushing you into anything. He learned what you liked, what made you comfortable, and made sure you were never in want. Slowly, you began to wonder if the stories were wrong. Maybe the rumors of his brutality were just that—false, baseless rumors.
Then came the night of the party. It was one of Heeseung’s many business gatherings, held in his lavish mansion. The room was packed with unfamiliar faces, but Heeseung’s hand remained securely at the small of your back, guiding you through the crowd. His presence, as usual, was extremely comforting and reassuring.
Though as the event went on, you noticed one of the more shady looking men approach your husband and whisper something into his ear. That's when all of a sudden, Heeseung’s calm and gentle demeanor turned cold. Without a word, he grabbed the man’s throat and with brutal efficiency, snapped his neck.
The body fell to the ground, dead.
The room seemed to freeze, while Heeseung just turned to you with a soft, apologetic, almost sheepish smile.
“I’m sorry, my love. I couldn’t let anyone ruin our first party together.”
