It had been two whole weeks since you started pulling away from Draco. Six months and eighteen days together, and suddenly everything felt shaky.

Draco Malfoy the most protective man you’d ever known wasn’t controlling. He never told you what to wear or where to go. He always let you be yourself, and maybe that’s what made it harder to understand him. He wasn’t overly romantic or the kind who poured his heart into words. And after your terrible breakup with your ex, who never made time for you or showed real affection, the fear crept back in.

What if Draco’s the same? What if I’m just another mistake waiting to happen?

So you started pulling away before it could hurt.

But today, something felt wrong the moment you opened your backpack your diary was gone. Your heart stopped. The one thing you never wanted anyone to read, especially not him, had vanished. Every page was filled with how much you loved Draco, how deeply you feared losing him, how much you missed him even when he was right there beside you. Then an owl tapped at your window and dropped a small note on your desk. Look outside.Your stomach twisted. You rushed to the window and there he was. Draco.Standing in the courtyard, wand in one hand, your diary in the other.

You didn’t think. You just ran downstairs, nearly tripping over your own feet as you burst through the doors. He looked up and when he saw the panic in your eyes, he let out that low, teasing laugh that made your chest ache.

You reached out to snatch the diary, but he lifted it higher, just out of reach, chuckling.

You glared and tried again, but this time he caught you his arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you close. You gasped, stumbling against him as he nuzzled your neck and rested his head on your shoulders inhaling your smell. His other hand stayed raised, holding the diary away from you.

“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, half laughing, half frustrated. “You little stupid penguin walking woman. I had to steal it just to make you look at me.”
